Inside the Life of Woodpeckers: Talk & Trail Walk for Women Landowners

  • Hopkins Demonstration Forest 16750 South Brockway Road Oregon City, OR, 97045 United States (map)

You may recognize the familiar tap-tap-tap echoing through your woods, but who are the striking red-capped and red-creasted birds behind all that activity? Discover what makes these remarkable forest residents so captivating—how they live, communicate, and carve out their place in the ecosystem—while also learning why their noisy (and sometimes destructive) excavations happen in the first place.

Join Oregon Women Owning Woodlands for a 90-minute indoor presentation about woodpeckers with naturalist Marilyn Ellis, followed by an optional bird walk through the woods of Hopkins.
