Chainsaw Safety Workshop for Women

  • Williamsburg, Maine USA (map)

Piscataquis County Soil & Water Conservation District (PCSWCD) will be hosting their 7th annual Chainsaw Safety Workshop. This year, they are offering a course for women who want to learn or improve on chainsaw skills!

This is a 2-day training that will be held at PCSWCD's Williamsburg Forest, Williamsburg, ME on Saturday September 27th and 28th from 9-3:30PM. This is a hands-on training, so all PPE - chaps, boots (steel toe recommended), gloves, head, ear and eye protection (forestry helmet) - are needed, along with a chainsaw. Topics covered will include PPE, saw maintenance, starting, safe operating, basic cuts, processing and more. There is no certification offered with this class. The goal is to have participants leave comfortable operating a chainsaw using safe techniques. This course is capped at 6 participants, so early registration is recommended.
